Lydney Town prepare for Hellenic

Lydney’s first league game of the new campaign in Hellenic Division 1 West will be away against Gloucestershire rivals Clanfield on Wednesday August 11.

In last season’s clashes with them Lydney lost 1-0 at home and then were beaten 4-0 away.

Up next will be the FA Cup Tie at Fairford Town on Saturday August 14 and with Lydney’s first home game coming on Saturday August 21 against old foes Trowbridge Town. Lydney played them late in the season last time around, winning 3-0 away in March when Niall Halford bagged twice, and then drew 2-2 at home in April after
being 2-0 up.

Relegated Hook Norton are the next side to visit the Rec on Saturday August 28 and Lydney complete the August fixtures on Bank Holiday Monday with a short trip to Cheltenham Saracens.Last season both teams shared the points in the away fixture last season before Saracens beat Lydney 1-0 at home in March.
