Frome Town 1 – 1 Bishops Cleeve

Frome Town 1Bishops Cleeve 1

The Villagers were unlucky not to come away with all three points, despite an uninspiring first 45 minutes with neither goalkeeper having to make a save.

Kicking down the slope in the second half the Villagers created several chances but efforts by Alex Sykes and Elliot Kennedy were straight at Steve Perrin in the Frome goal, whilst the defence only allowed shots from distance for the Frome attack. The deadlock was broken in the 82nd minute; a long throw by Sam Avery was flicked on by Julian Alsop to Sykes whose volley from 18 yards left Perrin with no chance of getting to it. With the clock ticking down a long ball out of defence by Frome caught the Cleeve defence flat footed, Chris Lewis ran on to it and his shot from an acute angle beat the despairing dive of Tom King.

Cleeve: King, Jackson, Pritchett, Smith, Jones, Avery, Davis, Haddock, Alsop, Kennedy (Midwinter 75), Sykes.

Sub not used: Lock
