Bishop’s Cleeve have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of experienced front man Marc McGregor on loan from Blue Square Bet North side Worcester City, writes Richard Joyce.
The former Tamworth and Weston-super-Mare striker played alongside Cleeve boss Alex Sykes at Forest Green Rovers as well as in spells at Endsleigh and Nuneaton.
McGregor moves to Kayte Lane hoping to boost a Cleeve attack which has fired in 11 league goals in 12 games this season and boasts the likes of experienced Southern League attackers James Vercesi and Carl Brown as well as youngsters Elliot Kennedy and Stuart Midwinter.
McGregor moved to Worcester in October 2009 from Blue Square South side Weston-super-Mare but with City already possessing former Gloucester City strikers Mike Symons and Luke Corbett in attack as well as former Forest Green Rovers striker Danny Carey-Bertram, McGregor has been allowed to temporarily depart St Georges Lane to get some action at Cleeve.
It is likely that McGregor will make his Bishop’s Cleeve debut on Saturday when the Villagers entertain Bridgwater Town at Kayte Lane in a 3pm kick off.
