Cotswold Rangers launch new teams

New for this season Cotswold Rangers Football Club are helping children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 age groups (4 to 7 year olds) take their first steps into playing football. Starting in September, a new Stroud based Under 7’s group will be starting in the capable hands of Ian Neville who is fully CRB checked and also an FA licensed coach. Ian has been coaching young players for over 20 years and has a fantastic track record of helping children become actively involved in the sport. The sessions are great fun for everyone involved and are a perfect introduction to the nation’s favourite game.

“I believe that every boy and girl should have the chance to get into sport, and especially football, and it’s great to see children so young starting to play” said Ian. “It’s good to get them active and is great for their development socially and physically”.

The first session will be on Friday 14th September from 6pm until 6.45pm at Stroud High School’s Sports Hall, and will run every Friday (excluding school holidays) through to July 2013. Each session will cost only £1.50, payable on the evening, plus a Club joining fee of £20 payable once your child feels established.

For more information please call Ian Neville on 01452 741273 or email Ian at ianneville01@gmail.com.

As well as the new Under 7’s group, the club already has 2 men’s teams, a growing ladies side, and an Under 11’s team, and they are always happy to welcome new players to the club.

“As a club we want to make football accessible to as many players as we possibly can regardless of age, ability or gender” said Ryan Harmer, chairman of the club “This new group is a really exciting step for us and a really exciting opportunity for local children to have fun, keep active and to start playing football”
